Very clean but crowded camping and absolutely worthless fishing. Waste of a fishing trip.

i love coming here every year its calm and quiet most times , but there is some fiesty critters (bobcat)

In my experience Indiana state parks are exemplary and Hardy Lake is no exception. I was there only overnight during a road trip, but found it very pleasant. Pretty trees and lake, campsites that are roomy and scattered among the trees nicely, shady but not claustrophobic. I only did a drive-by look at the lake so cannot comment on the amenities there. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Numerous families seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would definitely consider a return visit including a longer stay. My only gripe? I find it irritating to pay $32 for a campsite and then have to pay an entry fee as well.

Small fee at the gate to get into the beach.

I have been going here since I was a kid in the 80's. The place hasn't changed much. The grass areas are always mowed, the beach was clean and nice. My kids loved the water and the play sets up on top the hill from the beach. They have built in grills near the picnic tables and by the beach. No need to waste space in your own vehicle bringing your grill. Out of 6 of us. I am the only one who ended up with a leach on my foot. I blame that on going into the deep and having my feet in the mud at the bottom. But out of 30 years of going here. I have only had one leach on me. That was in 2016.

Its a lake, they all have leaches. Great place to stay for the day and/or camp.

One of our favorite places to go camping. The primitive site only has a few sites so it never feels like we are vacationing in a city in the woods. We love the trails and fishing spots. I just wish there was somewhere close to rent kayaks or canoes.
